Description
This 2021 Rubin red wine is produced from the Indigenous Bulgarian grape Rubin in a very limited quantity of only 1750 bottles. It is made to preserve its natural character and juicy cherry palate. It has been aged in stainless steel vats and in a bottle. No oak has been used in its production.
Bendida is a boutique winery in the Thracian Valley, near the town of Plovdiv. It was established in 2012 as a family-owned winery producing fewer than 50,000 bottles annually from Rubin, Mavrud, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
Local knowledge and contacts enable them to receive fruit at optimum ripeness from very old vineyards, which sets them apart.
It is full-bodied but smooth and velvety with black cherries and forest fruit on the palate. Ideal with meatballs, pizza, and chicken dishes. Ready but can keep.
