Description
This 2019 Mavrud red wine is produced from the ancient Indigenous Bulgarian grape variety Mavrud in a very limited quantity of only 1200 bottles.
It is made to preserve its natural varietal character. Careful ageing in a bottle for 5 years has produced a full but sumptuous wine loaded with black cherry and plum aromas with a long finish. Ideal with meatballs, pork chops, and hard cheeses. Ready but can keep!
Bendida is a boutique winery in the Thracian Valley near the town of Plovdiv. It was set up in 2012 as a family winery producing less than 50,000 bottles a year from Rubin, Mavrud, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. Local knowledge and contacts allow them to receive optimum ripeness fruit from very old vineyards that sets them apart.
