This 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubin blend combines the Bulgarian indigenous grape variety Rubin (a cross of Nebbiolo and Syrah) with the noble and classic Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bendida is a boutique winery in the Thracian Valley near the town of Plovdiv. It was set up in 2012 as a family winery producing less than 50,000 bottles a year from Rubin, Mavrud, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. Local knowledge and contacts allow them to receive optimum ripeness fruit from very old vineyards that sets them apart.
All Bendida wines are produced without much intervention, with this one using wild yeast from the vineyard.
A full-bodied wine with a robust but smooth palate filled with black forest fruit flavours. and a hint of spicy blackberry vanilla. Excellent with red meat like lamb chops and steak! Also fabulous with mature hard cheeses!
Ready to drink but can keep and improve for 1-3 years in your cellar!
